‘Polifemo’ Floor Lamp by Carlo Forcolini for Artemide, Italy 1980s
A ‘Polifemo’ halogen floor lamp designed by Carlo Forcolini for Artemide in the 1980s. This Postmodern floor lamp features a black metal circular base and body that supports a cream metal disk diffuser with a mirror halogen reflector in the center. The disk is adjustable to direct and reflect the light that emanates from a single bulb. It is attached to the lamp body with an elegant triangular black metal frame. Maker's mark present on underside. Italy, 1980s.
Carlo Forcolini (1947-) is an internationally renowned Italian designer and entrepreneur with a design career that spans over fifty years.
Established in mid-20th century Italy, Artemide is renowned as one of the most prominent lighting manufacturers. Their acclaimed fixtures are featured in museum collections globally. Vintage Artemide lighting, including table lamps, pendants, and ceiling lamps, exemplifies a harmonious blend of functionality and striking design.
