The Ultrafragola Mirror, designed by Italian architect Ettore Sottsass in 1970, stands as a quintessential piece of postmodern design. As part of the Mobili Grigi series of bedroom and living room objects, the Ultrafragola Mirror was the only piece from the collection to make it beyond the prototype phase. A hallmark of the Memphis Group’s daring aesthetic, this mirror breaks away from traditional forms with its distinctive wavy, organic shape. Its design is characterized by fluid, curvaceous lines that evoke a sense of playfulness and movement.
The mirror’s frame is made from molded white opaline, which allows for its unique, sculptural form. Illuminated from behind by a pink neon LED light, the Ultrafragola Mirror casts a captivating pink glow, enhancing its visual impact and emphasizing its unique contours. It has achieved iconic status in the design world and is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. This particular mirror was designed in 2022. It comes with original paperwork and proof of authenticity, affirming its status and provenance.
