South Loop Loft, a luxury vintage furniture retailer specializing in high-end European finds, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory + Logistics Coordinator. This role will support all aspects of inventory management, warehouse organization, showroom assistance, and logistics coordination. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, have excellent organizational skills, and demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining the high standards of South Loop Loft.  This role works closely with our Inventory Manager + Logistics team. 

Location: South Loop Loft, Chicago, IL
Employment Type: Flexible | To Be Determined. This is a part-time position (4 days a week) with the potential to transition to full-time depending on a candidate's availability and skill set.

Key Responsibilities:

Shipping & Logistics:

  • Professionally pack and prep all small and medium-sized items for shipment.

  • Drop off UPS and FedEx shipments in a timely manner.

  • Pull, inspect, and prep all white glove delivery items for shipment.

  • Coordinate with White Glove Movers for pickups and drop-offs at the warehouse and showroom.

  • Manage the shipping schedule for team members (Erica + Jon) and ensure timely dispatch.

  • Coordinate white glove shipping and local deliveries for South Loop Loft warehouse sales with third-party shipping coordinators.

Photoshoots:

  • Assist with photoshoots and lead the moving team to set up and organize furniture for shooting.

  • Assist with photoshoot prep, including prepping items

  • Ensure all items are properly put away after photoshoots and covered with upholstery covers to protect them.

Showroom Support:

  • Transport items back and forth between the warehouse and showroom.

  • Assist with merchandising, installations, and organizing the showroom displays.

Inventory Restoration:

  • Assist with cleaning and assembling furniture for inventory.

  • Coordinate pickups and drop-offs at restoration vendors (e.g., glass replacement, marble restoration, upholstery, art framing, lampshade makers).

  • Use Airtable to track inventory locations and restoration status for easy accessibility.

Warehouse + Showroom Maintenance:

  • Regularly clean and organize the warehouse to maintain an efficient and professional workspace.

  • Manage the trash compactor and dispose of waste appropriately.

  • Order warehouse supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Inventory Management & Restoration Support:

  • Unload and unpack incoming inventory containers, ensuring proper handling and storage.

  • Assist with the assembly and organization of items as they arrive, ensuring they are ready for display or sale.

  • Collaborate with restoration vendors to provide access to inventory requiring repairs and manage the restoration process.

  • Inspect new inventory upon arrival, update product details, and enter information into our database to maintain accurate records.

  • Coordinate the logistics of sending items to restoration vendors and assist in managing the timeline of these projects.

  • Support the purchasing process by helping with fabric orders for restoration or custom projects.

  • Ensure all items are properly cataloged, maintained, and organized for easy accessibility and tracking.

  • Work closely with the team to maintain a smooth workflow and uphold South Loop Loft’s high standards in inventory management.

General Property Management:

  • Assist with minor property management duties, such as changing lightbulbs and performing basic repairs.

Assisting the Team:

  • Provide general support to the owner and team members as needed in daily operations and special projects.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in warehouse management, inventory control, or logistics, with a hands-on approach to daily tasks.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly when it comes to managing inventory and coordinating logistics.

  • High attention to detail, especially in shipping, inventory tracking, and overseeing restoration projects.

  • Proficient in Airtable or similar tools for inventory management and database tracking - or able to learn

  • Ability to perform basic repairs, cleaning, and maintenance tasks, ensuring inventory is in top condition.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external vendors.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach to working with inventory, from cleaning and assembly to logistics coordination.

Important Information:

  • Competitive hourly wage, commensurate with experience.

  • This position requires working at both our Warehouse and Showroom.

  • A valid driver’s license is highly preferred.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs is required.
