A pair of Danish black leather armchairs with matching footstool designed by Søren Nissen & Ebbe Gehl in 1984. These Scandinavian Modern armchairs feature sculptural, wingback frames and all three pieces are composed of blonde beech wood and patinated black leather upholstery. Elegantly curved arms and petite tapered legs are beautiful examples of the exceptional woodwork the duo is known for, influenced by their cabinetmaker backgrounds. Detachable neck pillows add additional element of comfort. Denmark, 1980s.
Søren Nissen & Ebbe Gehl started their partnership in 1970 and were both trained cabinetmakers at Rud Rasmussen’s workshop in Copenhagen. Throughout their collaboration, they designed many pieces for international furniture brands such as the Naver Collection. Given their cabinetmaker backgrounds, many of these designs feature exceptional craftsmanship with the use of wood. This award-winning duo has received international recognition, with their furniture designs exhibited in Europe, Japan and the U.S.
