italian-pink-floor-mirror-coat-rack-attributed-to-cristal-arte-1960s
Italian Pink Floor Mirror + Coat Rack Attributed to Cristal Arte, 1960s

An Italian floor mirror and coat rack attributed to Cristal Arte from the 1960s, the tall rectangular mirror is framed by broad panels of pale pink mirrored glass, their softly reflective surfaces introducing warmth and subtle color around the central reflection.

The frame is assembled from individual beveled sections, joined at angled corners and secured with exposed circular metal fasteners. These small details bring a sense of precision to the composition, while the gently rounded outer corners soften its silhouette.

Across the upper portion, a narrow glass shelf projects outward, creating a convenient surface for small personal objects. Beneath it, three sculptural coat hooks are arranged in an evenly spaced row. Each hook is formed from thick, twisted clear glass, its rope-like texture catching and refracting light along the curved surface. Dark metal mounts anchor the hooks to the mirror, creating a contrast between the transparency of the glass and the warmth of the pink frame.

The lower portion introduces another distinctive element. A series of rounded black supports extends beneath the mirror, forming a discreet rack for additional storage. Two outward-curving black metal feet lift the piece slightly above the floor, their curled ends adding a decorative flourish while maintaining the lightness of the overall structure. The contrast between the dark metalwork and reflective glass gives the piece a particularly graphic presence.

The attribution to Cristal Arte connects the mirror to the sophisticated glass furnishings produced in Italy during the mid-century period. The company became known for its exploration of mirrored surfaces, colored glass, and decorative detailing, often treating glass as a structural and expressive material rather than simply a reflective surface. This piece reflects that sensibility, bringing together several glass treatments within a single functional design.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0740/0135/0967/files/9bRqlXx5hW9h9c3u5FZqEUW1RpkgNjTU9VVYRTwukxk.jpg?v=1792185009
https://thesouthlooploft.com/products/italian-pink-floor-mirror-coat-rack-attributed-to-cristal-arte-1960s
