The 'Tentazione' Model 685 lounge chair was designed by Mario Bellini for Cassina in 1973. This elegantly curved chair retains its original floral fabric slipcover, which is supported by a wooden base and black plastic feet. Mario Bellini (1935-) is an internationally renowned Italian architect and designer. He graduated from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1959 and has received numerous accolades across various design fields, including the Compasso d’Oro award eight times and the Gold Medal for Lifetime Achievement from the Triennale di Milano.
Bellini has designed many iconic buildings worldwide, from museums to banks, galleries, and convention centers. His work spans industrial design, furniture design, and architecture. He has collaborated with several renowned companies, including B&B Italia, Cassina, and Heller Furniture. The Museum of Modern Art in New York holds 25 of his works in its permanent collection.
