An Italian Modern firewood holder designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Dimensione Fuoco in 1987. The foldable silhouette is constructed of suede in a rich, forest green hue and features decorative along the two handles and leather accents. A round, plywood base and four minimalistic legs give the piece structure. Maker’s mark present on underside. Italy, 1987.
Afra Bianchin & Tobia Scarpa were born in Italy in 1937 and 1935. They studied at the University Institute of Architecture in Venice and began their careers in 1958, specializing in the creation of Murano glass products. They soon enjoyed great success, collaborating with some of the biggest names in design, including B&B Italia and Cassina. Today, their designs are exhibited in major museums around the world and have been the subject of major international exhibitions.

CONDITION: Good overall vintage condition. No significant signs of wear. Labeled with maker’s mark on underside and original tag included.
