Pair of Modernist Brass Sconces, Italy 1960s
A pair of 1960s brass wall sconces created through the marriage of lacquered metal base and brass folded sheet, it follows a typical mid-century metal processing technique: calendering, a metal bending technique often used to create a “shade” for lamps. It was used in many furniture designs of the 50s and 60s in Europe, such as the famous Foglia sconces by Tobia e Afra Scarpa.
DIMENSIONS: 6"W x 6.5"D x 21"H
CONDITION: These have been professionally rewired for US use. Each sconce accepts one candelabra light bulb.
