A pair of sculptural plaster sconces designed by Charles Pfister for Boyd in 1987. These sconces feature a rectangular shape with elegant curves and angled cutouts to emanate warm light. Signed on inside and has a raised ‘Copyright Boyd 9632’ mark. Retains ‘Boyd Lighting Company’ sticker inside.
Charles Pfister (1938-1990) was an American interior and furniture designer known for his elegant simplicity. Early in his career, he designed corporate interiors in San Francisco, before establishing Charles Pfister Associates in 1981 with James Leal, and Pamela Babey. Pfister designed lighting for Boyd and Casella, seating for Bernhardt and Baker and accessories for Knoll, including a range of glass bowls produced by Vistosi in Murano. Pfister’s firm was renamed The Pfister Partnership in 1988.
DIMENSIONS: 7.5"H x 12.5"W x 6.5"D
CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. Original wiring and sockets inspected. One sconce has a subtle paint chip.
