French Gilt Metal Torch Sconce with Glass Shades No. 02, 1960s
A pair of French sconces from the 1960s, each formed of three elongated torch arms in gilt metal radiating from a circular backplate. The tapered bodies bear a rich, timeworn patina, their surfaces marked by the passage of age. Atop each torch, flame-shaped glass shades with marbled veining diffuse the light, casting a glow reminiscent of burning embers.
Sculptural and commanding—flank a mantel, frame a doorway, or anchor a corridor.
