A 1970s Italian chest of drawers in the style of Osvaldo Borsani. This piece is constructed of gorgeous burl veneer in a warm, honey finish. The curved silhouette features a demilune surface and three drawers adorned with oversized off-white circular pulls. Four hidden castors support the base, allowing for easy mobility. Italy, 1970s.

Osvaldo Borsani (1911-1985) was an Italian designer and architect born into a family of fine furniture makers. He studied fine arts at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan before pursuing architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. In 1943, he designed his own house in Varedo, Villa Borsani which has since been preserved and acts as an archive of his work. In 1953, Borsani and his twin brother founded Tecno, a design research and technology center, which would go on to produce a range of iconic 20th century pieces. He was taken with the Modernist movement and collaborated with a range of avant-garde artists on interior and furniture design projects. Borsani died in 1985 in Milan and is considered one of the most innovative designers of the 20th Century.
