A pioneering Brazilian artist, Geraldo de Barros (1923–1998) left an indelible mark across multiple disciplines, including painting, photography, and furniture design. Born in Chavantes, São Paulo, he studied architecture and co-founded the influential Grupo Ruptura, which was instrumental in bringing abstract art to Brazil. In his later years, de Barros shifted his focus to furniture design, crafting pieces that embraced modernist principles while infusing them with his distinctive artistic vision.
