‘Serenissimo’ Mint Green Dining Table by Lella & Massimo Vignelli for Acerbis, Italy 1985

A striking ‘Serenissimo’ series dining table from 1985 by the infamous design duo Lella & Massimo Vignelli for Acerbis Italy. This Postmodern dining table features four oversized column-form legs composed of metal finished with pigments and resin in a mesmerizing mint green hue. The round, satin glass tabletop effortlessly rests upon the sculptural base. Unmarked. Italy, 1980s.

After meeting in Italy, Lella (1934–2016) and Massimo Vignelli (1931–2014) began their collaborative work in 1961, eventually establishing Vignelli Associates in New York a decade later. Massimo, who described himself as an "information architect," was dedicated to distilling complex concepts into clear and visually compelling forms. His philosophy, "If you can design one thing, you can design everything," was evident in the diverse scope of his work. Alongside their influential branding projects, the Vignellis were prolific in creating modernist home furnishings, products, and interiors. Their collaborations over fifty years have left an indelible impact on design and visual culture.
