Aqua 'Baobab' Desk by Philippe Starck for Vitra, 2007

$6,800.00

Designed by Philippe Starck for Vitra in 2007, the ‘Baobab’ desk reimagines the workspace with fluid, organic lines that defy traditional right angles. Inspired by the seed of the baobab tree—long a site of gathering and exchange—its sculptural form seamlessly integrates storage within a polyurethane body, featuring asymmetrical shelving and discreet cable cutouts. Finished in aqua, one of five colors produced, its bold presence makes it a striking statement piece.

Philippe Starck’s collaboration with Vitra, which began in the 1990s, is celebrated for its innovative designs that combine practicality with bold aesthetics. Starck’s playful yet functional approach helped solidify Vitra’s reputation for cutting-edge furniture design. Several of their pieces have won prestigious awards, including the Louis Ghost Chair, which received multiple design accolades for its groundbreaking use of polycarbonate and its blend of tradition and modernity.
