A rare pair of Italian ‘Model 1944’ handblown frosted glass sconces designed by Max Ingrand for Fontana Arte in the 1960s. These stunning oval-form sconces feature irregular beveled edges and chiseled central motifs in a polished finish. When illuminated, the thick, opaque glass emits a soft, diffused light. Patinated metal backplates with circular brass fittings support each fixture. Italy, 1960s.

Max Ingrand is a renowned French master glassmaker and decorator trained at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. Ingrand directed his specialization toward the decorative arts, under the guidance of great artists such as Jacques Grüber and Charles Lemaresquier. He has created numerous glass projects for religious buildings, hotels, and public environments, and has been awarded La Legion d’Honor in France.

This item ships via White Glove Delivery.
