Set of 6 Hand-Forged Iron Dining Chairs by Salvino Marsura, Italy 1970s

$12,400.00

These 1970s Italian dining chairs were handcrafted by the celebrated artist Salvino Marsura, showcasing his distinctive approach to wrought iron design. The hand-forged wrought iron frames are marked by an interplay of bold geometric lines and subtly curved forms. The chairs' backs feature an abstract, almost whimsical design that draws the eye, adding a sense of lightness to the otherwise sturdy structure.

The seats are upholstered in springbok antelope hide, characterized by a short, dense, and soft fur with a distinctive coloration. The hide features a mix of light brown, tan, and white colors, with some areas having a darker, almost speckled appearance. Antelope hide is commonly used in luxury upholstery and decor due to its unique aesthetic and soft texture.

These chairs are not merely functional pieces but sculptural expressions of Marsura's artistry, reflecting his mastery in transforming metal into objects of enduring beauty and character. Signed by artist. Sourced in Italy, 1970s.

Salvino Marsura, born in Treviso in 1938, is an esteemed Italian artist whose career blossomed in the 1950s.
