Black Leather + Wood Reclining Chaise Lounge Chair by Henry W. Klein for Bramin Møbler, Denmark 1960s

Danish Modern lounge chair features a “V” shaped honey oak frame, original black leather upholstery, padded vinyl armrests, and a removable neck pillow for added comfort. Exaggerated ‘ears’ resemble the aesthetic of a traditional wingback chair. The extension is raised slightly higher than the seat, while metal hinges inset between the backrest and oak frame provide tilt functionality. Denmark, 1960s.

Henry W. Klein was born in Norway in 1919 and studied interior design at the Tekniske Skole in Frederikberg. During his studies, he was taught by the famous Danish designer and architect Finn Juhl. In 1952, Klein returned to Norway and began his own furniture and interiors company. His chairs, tables, and sideboards are characteristic of the postwar Danish Modern aesthetic, typically incorporating fine woods and well proportioned forms.
