Italian Osvaldo Borsani Style Wood Coffee Table, 1940s
A 1940s Italian petite coffee table, echoing the style of Osvaldo Borsani. Crafted from solid wood, its two-tier design features a round, scalloped gallery top with an inset glass plateau. Supported by four gracefully curved legs, this table has a low profile with delicate proportions, making it ideal for intimate spaces. The original glass has been preserved for historical context, but for a more contemporary look, our team can provide a new piece of glass with no pattern.
Osvaldo Borsani (1911–1985) was an Italian designer and architect born into a family of fine furniture makers. He studied fine arts at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan before pursuing architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. In 1943, he designed his own house in Varedo, Villa Borsani, which has since been preserved and now serves as an archive of his work.
