Luciano Frigerio was an Italian designer, artist, and musician born in Desio, Liguria. His father, Giovanni, started a small cabinet making workshop here in 1889. Over the years, a collaboration was born with famous Italian architects and designers including Franco Albini, Sergio Asti, and later Paolo Portoghesi. Luciano Frigerio believed an architect could design furniture with the craftsmanship of a cabinet maker and not only on a large, industrial scale. This philosophy led the company to later opening ten showrooms in major Italian cities, including one in Via Montenapoleone in Milan.
