Faux Book Wood End Table Attributed to Maitland-Smith, 1970s

$2,200.00

A trompe-l’oeil of stacked books, this 1970s end table, attributed to American maker Maitland-Smith, blurs the line between object and illusion. Carved from wood and hand-painted in rich tones of oxblood, navy, and ochre, each faux volume is worn at the edges like a well-loved classic.

Clever yet grounded, it functions beautifully as an end table, nightstand, or sculptural punctuation in a reading nook.
