French Art Deco Alabaster Pendant, 1930s

$3,400.00

A French Art Deco alabaster pendant from the 1930s.

Suspended from three rope-wrapped supports, the form is simple yet commanding. The shallow alabaster bowl appears to float beneath its canopy. When lit, the stone transforms entirely, revealing a landscape of amber, honey, and ivory veining that lies hidden within the material.

Carved from alabaster with a richly marbled finish, the shade possesses a natural depth. Variations in tone and translucency create movement across the surface, allowing light to pass through unevenly and giving the pendant a warm, atmospheric glow. The stone becomes a source of ambient color, casting a softness that defines the room around it.

Its scale allows it to anchor a space without overwhelming it. Hung above a dining table, it creates intimacy. In an entry hall, it establishes a sense of arrival. Suspended within a stairwell or living room, it draws the eye upward while diffusing a gentle, golden light.
