French Brutalist Elm Double Door Credenza, 1970s

$6,800.00

Constructed in solid elm, a French Brutalist credenza from the 1970s, where utility and craftsmanship are expressed through weight, texture, and restraint.

The piece is defined by its bold architectural form and the warmth of its richly grained timber. The broad top rests on thick, square supports, creating a composition that feels grounded and deliberate.

Rather than relying on ornament, its character emerges through proportion and material, allowing the natural movement of the wood to become the focal point.

The pair of cabinet doors feature geometric parquetry panels, each assembled by hand from solid elm blocks to create a rhythmic interplay of depth and pattern. Simple turned wooden knobs provide a contrast to the angular façade, while the open central niche introduces balance and practicality, offering space to display books, ceramics, or collected objects.
