French Brutalist Wrought Iron + Gold Leaf Dining Table by Jean-Jacques Argueyrolles

$21,000.00

Designed by Jean-Jacques Argueyrolles, this French Brutalist dining table pairs hand-worked wrought iron with an oxidized metal top and restrained gold leaf detailing.

The forged iron base is architectural and expressive, with subtle variations in thickness and contour that reveal the hand of the maker. Above, the oxidized metal top shifts in tone and texture, creating a richly layered patina that changes with the light.

Touches of gold leaf along the edges and base offer a striking contrast to the rawness of the iron. Hammer marks, tonal shifts, and slight irregularities remain visible throughout, preserving the character of the materials and the process behind the work.

Jean-Jacques Argueyrolles was born in 1954 near Paris. He works with bronze, stone, iron, and wood, designing furniture lines in a minimalist-baroque style while also creating sculptures and monumental works. He considers Dalí, Tàpies, and Moore his artistic masters, yet he sees himself as an autodidact—a self-made man—which helps explain the atypical nature of his work.
