French Cerused Oak Extendable Dining Table, 1940s

$8,800.00

A substantial 1940s French dining table in cerused oak with classic trestle construction. The rectangular top expands via two pull-out leaves, revealing generous proportions ideal for hosting. The silhouette is grounded by carved pedestal legs and a turned stretcher—details that nod to traditional French woodworking while the cerused finish lightens the profile. A versatile piece, scaled for both daily use and larger gatherings.

DIMENSIONS: 58.75"W x 39.25"D x 29.5"H

ADDITIONAL DIMENSIONS: 111.5"OAW

ORIGIN: France

PERIOD: 1940s

MATERIALS: Wood

CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. When the table is closed, the top sits nearly level, and the faint bow is scarcely perceptible. With both extension leaves installed, the gentle curvature becomes more apparent, yet it remains purely cosmetic and does not compromise stability or everyday use. Leaves fit securely and glide smoothly; apron, joinery, and base are sound. Exhibits light, even surface wear appropriate to its age and careful history.
