Rare Perforated Metal Accent Chair by Claude Adrien for M.A.M PARIS, 1950s - 2 Available

$3,150.00

A striking expression of postwar French modernism, this rare 1950s armchair by Claude Adrien for Édition Meubles Artistiques Modernes (M.A.M.) captures a moment when industrial materials became a new language of artistic expression.

There is something wonderfully playful about its composition. Bold red arms extend at dramatic angles, lending a sense of movement and personality to the otherwise restrained aluminum frame. The perforated white metal seat and back introduce lightness and transparency, creating an unexpected tension between industrial strength and visual delicacy.

Both architectural and whimsical, the chair reflects the optimism and experimentation of mid-century French design, when a new generation of designers began reimagining everyday objects through the possibilities of modern materials and manufacturing.

Claude Adrien's work for M.A.M. embraced this spirit, blurring the boundaries between functional furniture and sculpture. More than seven decades later, the chair feels remarkably fresh—a small but compelling piece of French design history, as expressive as it is functional.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Sold and priced individually.

DIMENSIONS: 19.5"W x 23"D x 32"H

ADDITIONAL DIMENSIONS: 27"AH

SEAT HEIGHT: 18.5"

ORIGIN: France

PERIOD: 1950s

MATERIALS: Metal

CONDITION: Fair vintage condition, with age related wear.

While our vintage garden furniture, decor, and lighting were originally used as indoor/outdoor, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, rain, extreme humidity, heat, cold, or wet climates can lead to natural aging, fading, and potential deterioration. We recommend using protective covers when not in use and storing items indoors during adverse weather or cold winters.

Stone and other durable materials will develop a unique patina and character but may also weather and change color when left outdoors for extended periods. Some wear and tear is expected and adds to the vintage charm of your garden decor. South Loop Loft is not liable for cracks and fissures that occur on natural stone, either vintage or contemporary, in freeze/thaw environments or environments with excessive heat or moisture.

By purchasing from South Loop Loft, you acknowledge that our Garden products require appropriate care to ensure longevity and optimal performance across different climates.
