French Serpentine Verde Marble + Iron Console, 1940s
A French console from the 1940s, defined by an open iron framework and the contrast of deep green marble against dark metal.
The base is constructed from slender iron elements that flare outward and converge in a series of elongated curves. Rather than relying on heavy ornament, the structure is almost drawn in space, with sweeping stretchers connecting the legs and creating a sense of movement beneath the top. Small gilt collars and spherical details punctuate the ironwork, bringing warmth and definition to the frame.
A new 2cm Serpentine Verde marble top has been honed to a soft matte finish and finished with an eased edge. The stone is richly figured, moving between moss and forest green with irregular pale veining that gives each section its own character. Its visual weight creates a deliberate counterpoint to the narrow profile and openness of the base.
Viewed straight on, the ironwork has a graphic, almost calligraphic quality; from the side, its remarkably slender depth becomes apparent. The gilt details catch the light at key intersections, while the marble provides a strong horizontal plane above.

Our White Glove service includes delivery inside the home (including one flight of stairs). Once the shippers are in your region, they will contact you beforehand to provide the delivery day and time window. Standard lead time is 3-5 weeks.
Ensure a clear path and be available to sign for the delivery. The team cannot move existing furniture. Rural deliveries may experience longer wait times due to limited routing. Alert us if there are additional stairs, COI requirements or other unique circumstances.

In-stock inventory ships via UPS, USPS, or FedEx within 5-10 business days (excluding holidays). Rates are calculated based on the full order value, size and region.
