French Tambour Pine Screen or Room Divider Attributed to Jomain Bauman, 1960s

$5,400.00

Composed of vertical slatted timber, a French tambour pine screen from the 1960s, attributed to Jomain Bauman.

The tambour construction allows the screen to bend in a continuous curve, shifting between openness and enclosure with a fluid, almost kinetic presence, its form feeling inherently modular.

Crafted in warm-toned pine, the wood carries the soft patina of age, its grain amplified by the repetition of finely spaced ribs. The scalloped upper edge introduces a subtle wavering line, tempering the rigidity of the vertical structure and giving the piece a quiet sense of movement even at rest. The curvature is deliberate but unforced, suggesting adaptability rather than fixed geometry.

DIMENSIONS: 99"W x 0.5"D x 68.5"H

ORIGIN: France

PERIOD: 1960s

MATERIALS: Pine

CONDITION: Great vintage condition, with surface wear consistent with age and use, including scuffs and scratches.
