French Wood + Rush Armchair in the Manner of Francis Jourdain, 1950s - 2 Available

$2,800.00

A French armchair from the 1950s, created in the manner of Francis Jourdain.

Crafted from solid wood with a handwoven rush seat and backrest, the silhouette is linear and composed, with softly angled arms and turned front legs. The woven rush brings texture and warmth to the structure, its pattern creating a subtle rhythm across the high back.

Its proportions feel thoughtful rather than imposing. The open frame keeps the piece visually light, suited to interiors where furniture is intended to breathe within the room rather than dominate it. There is an architectural quality to the design—one that recalls French interiors where utility, honesty of material, and artisanal construction existed in balance.

The chair feels equally appropriate beside a writing desk, positioned in a reading corner, or placed as a solitary piece within a larger space.

Sold and priced individually.
