An Italian ‘Alky’ chair designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli in 1969. The sculptural, modern design was exhibited with the Piretti Collection at NeoCon in 1988. This chair retains its original green upholstery and features an aluminum footed base with plastic gliders. This piece is dynamic from every angle and floats beautifully in a seating area. It’s versatile, comfortable, and a fantastic size.

Giancarlo Piretti was an Italian Furniture Designer born in Bologna in 1940. There he trained at the Istituto Statale d'Arte until 1960. Giancarlo Piretti served as the head designer for Anonima Castelli for many years.

CONDITION: This original Giancarlo Piretti chair remains in good vintage condition. The frame is structurally sound, with light surface wear and a naturally developed patina to the chrome elements consistent with age and use. The original green upholstery shows minor wear throughout, along with evidence of an earlier repair that was not professionally stitched.

Reupholstery optional; we have elected to sell this chair in its current state so the end user can select fabric. Upholstery services are available through our showroom (Fabric + Upholstery Labor is not included in the purchase price). Please email info@thesouthlooploft.com for a quote.

This item ships via White Glove Delivery.

White Glove Delivery

Our White Glove service includes delivery inside the home (including one flight of stairs).  Once the shippers are in your region, they will contact you beforehand to provide the delivery day and time window. Standard lead time is 3-5 weeks.

Ensure a clear path and be available to sign for the delivery.  The team cannot move existing furniture. Rural deliveries may experience longer wait times due to limited routing.  Alert us if there are additional stairs, COI requirements or other unique circumstances.

Domestic Shipping

In-stock inventory ships via UPS, USPS, or FedEx within 5-10 business days (excluding holidays). Rates are calculated based on the full order value, size and region.

International Shipping

International orders require a custom quote. Shipping costs are not included in the purchase price and will not populate at checkout. Please contact us directly for pricing.
