Italian Brass + Acrylic Pendant, 1970s - 5 Available
Designed in Italy during the 1970s, this pendant is composed of two acrylic hemispheres joined in quiet symmetry, an object defined as much by restraint as by detail.
Each half is molded into a smooth, continuous curve, then finished with fine, spiraling lines that travel across the surface. These lines are not merely decorative; they gently break up the volume, softening the solidity of the form and introducing a sense of motion. As they wrap around the sphere, they create a subtle visual rhythm, one that shifts depending on the angle of view.
The acrylic itself carries a muted translucency. Unlike glass, it holds light in a more diffused way, allowing it to settle within the form before releasing it outward. When illuminated, the etched spirals catch and scatter the light, producing a layered glow that feels both contained and atmospheric.
The meeting point of the two hemispheres is defined by a clean horizontal seam, precise, but not distracting. It anchors the composition, giving structure to an otherwise fluid object.
What distinguishes this piece is its balance between material and line. The acrylic provides clarity and lightness, while the spiraling pattern introduces texture and depth, transforming a simple geometric form into something more dynamic.
When lit, the pendant emits a soft, enveloping light. The surface detailing diffuses the illumination, creating a calm, ambient presence that shifts subtly with its surroundings.

Our White Glove service includes delivery inside the home (including one flight of stairs). Once the shippers are in your region, they will contact you beforehand to provide the delivery day and time window. Standard lead time is 3-5 weeks.
