Italian Brutalist Rust Velvet Occasional Chair Attributed to Luigi Serafini for Sawaya & Moroni, 1980s

$3,600.00

An Italian Brutalist occasional chair from the 1980s, attributed to artist and designer Luigi Serafini for Sawaya & Moroni. Handcrafted in iron, the chair embraces a whimsical, sculptural language, with an abstract silhouette defined by a circular backrest and playful spherical details that blur the line between furniture and art.

The industrial character of the iron frame is softened by a pleated rush velvet cushion, introducing warmth and texture to the composition. The contrast between the expressive metalwork and the tactile upholstery creates a piece that feels both bold and unexpectedly inviting.

A chair that commands attention from every angle, bringing a distinctive artistic presence to a living room, gallery-like interior, or reading corner. Chosen not only for its function, but for the conversation and character it brings to a space.
