Italian Reticello Murano Glass Chandelier Attributed to Ercole Barovier, 1940s

$4,800.00

A 1940s Murano glass chandelier attributed to the esteemed Ercole Barovier. Six looped canes of clear Murano glass coil and drape from a patinated brass frame, gathering at the center in a sculptural knot before unfurling into six arms. Each arm ends in a reticello-patterned shade, the latticework diffusing the light into a warm, pearlescent wash.

The composition feels improvised yet precise: twisted glass that holds its curve; brass that has mellowed with time; shades that glow with intention. Unlit, it reads as an object in motion—weightless and architectural. Lit, it becomes atmospheric, casting a diffused radiance.

Suspended over a dining table or floating in a sitting room, it brings a sense of gesture rather than symmetry. A study in material and movement—Murano craftsmanship at its most expressive.
