An Italian rosewood and marble accent table from the 1940s, in the manner of Paolo Buffa, with a broad circular top balanced above a sculptural pedestal.
The green marble introduces movement across the surface, its pale veins passing through deeper olive and moss tones. A softly rounded edge gives the stone a slender profile, allowing the base beneath it to remain part of the composition.
The rosewood pedestal widens toward the top, its warm grain emphasizing the tapered form. Below, a brass collar marks the transition to three sweeping legs, each ending in a shaped brass cap with fine ridged detailing. These small metallic accents catch the light at the table’s lowest points, drawing attention to the curve of the feet.
Working in Milan through the middle decades of the twentieth century, Buffa’s furniture often brought traditional Italian craftsmanship into cleaner, more modern forms. That balance finds an echo here: the pedestal is spare and geometric, while the curved legs and decorative brass retain a more classical presence.
Beside a lounge chair or between two seats, the circular top offers a generous surface without sharp corners. The open base keeps the table visually light, while the combination of green stone, richly grained wood, and aged brass gives it a presence beyond its practical role.

Our White Glove service includes delivery inside the home (including one flight of stairs). Once the shippers are in your region, they will contact you beforehand to provide the delivery day and time window. Standard lead time is 3-5 weeks.
