A composition of elemental form, this 1970s Italian side table reads as sculpture first, function second. Anchoring the design is a monolithic cube of Verde Alpi marble, its deep green surface flecked with serpentine veining. From its center, a cantilevered slab of raw-edge limestone extends outward, its pale, fossil-rich texture offering tonal contrast and material tension.
Architectural in posture, the piece reflects Italian postmodernism’s fascination with mass, volume, and geological expression.
