‘Luna’ Swivel Chair in Ivory Boucle by Pierre Guariche for Meurop, 1967
The ‘Luna’ swivel chair was part of the Starlook Ultralight series, designed by Pierre Guariche and manufactured in Belgium by Meurop. Launched in 1967, this planetary-inspired collection featured four models: Polaris, Jupiter, Luna, and Mars.
Guariche achieved the chair’s distinctive globular form by embracing the innovative synthetic materials of the era, marking his stylistic transition into the Space Age. The chair swivels on a sleek chrome four-star base and has been carefully reupholstered in a textured ivory and taupe wool bouclé, bringing a modern touch to its iconic design.
