Italian Model ‘251’ Table Lamp by Tito Agnoli for Oluce, 1950s

$3,600.00

The Model ‘251’ table lamp was designed by Tito Agnoli for Oluce in 1955. A rare design, the lamp features a weighted circular base in black lacquered metal, paired with a slender steel stem and an adjustable cylindrical shade.

Agnoli’s approach is evident in the lamp’s form and movement—every element serves a purpose, with the shade pivoting to direct light precisely where needed. An early example of Italian modern lighting, well suited to a desk, console, or bedside table.

Tito Agnoli (1931–2012) was an Italian architect and industrial designer who specialized in furniture and lighting. After graduating from the Politecnico di Milano in 1949 with a degree in architecture, he worked as an assistant to Gio Ponti and Carlo De Carli. From the 1950s through the 1970s, he designed for leading manufacturers including Arflex, Cinova, Oluce, Poltrona Frau, and Schiffini.
