The First Edition PK91 Folding Stools, designed by Poul Kjærholm and produced by E. Kold Christensen, embody the purity of Danish modernism. Kjærholm, known for his minimalist aesthetic and exceptional attention to detail, designed the PK91 in 1961, drawing inspiration from ancient folding stools found in Egyptian and Greek antiquity. E. Kold Christensen, Kjærholm’s longtime collaborator, was responsible for manufacturing these first editions, which are highly sought after due to their superior craftsmanship and rarity.

The stools feature a matte chrome-plated stainless steel frame—Kjærholm’s signature material—engineered with a subtle twist, allowing the folded structure to align perfectly. These stools are icons of mid-20th-century design, standing at the intersection of art and utility.
