Pair of Italian “Model No. 307” Glass + Brass Sconces by G.C.M.E., 1950s

$4,600.00

Defined by curved glass shades etched with a delicate diamond cross hatch pattern, a pair of Italian “Model No. 307” sconces by G.C.M.E. from the 1950s.

The design diffuses light through texture. The glass appears almost weightless against the structure behind it, catching reflection and shadow with subtle movement across the surface.

At the center, a vertical gilt brass post carries the same cross hatched motif, creating continuity between material and form. Together, the elements reflect the distinctly Italian approach of the period—modern in line, but deeply attentive to craftsmanship and surface.

Scaled for intimacy rather than grandeur, the pair works rhythmically within a space. Installed beside a mirror, they frame reflection with light. In a hallway or bedroom, they introduce architectural repetition along the wall. Even unlit, the composition holds presence through material alone.

Pieces that speak to mid-century Italian interiors where lighting was treated not simply as utility, but as part of the room’s composition—designed to shape mood, reflection, and atmosphere as much as illumination itself.
