Maison Desny (1927-1933) was a short‑lived but influential French design house active in Paris, known for its contributions to the Art Deco and early Modernist movements. Founded by designers Desnet and René Nauny—from whose names the label “Desny” was formed—the studio operated from prestigious addresses such as Rue Cambon and later the Avenue des Champs‑Élysées.

Its work spanned lighting fixtures, decorative objects, tableware, and small furnishings, recognized for their architectural geometry, minimalist forms, and exceptionally high craftsmanship. Maison Desny’s pieces combined the crisp lines of Cubism with the polished surfaces and materials of machine‑age design, placing the firm at the forefront of French avant‑garde decorative art.

They collaborated with prominent contemporaries such as Jean‑Michel Frank, Robert Mallet‑Stevens, and the Giacometti brothers, and attracted elite clients including the Maharaja of Indore. The studio’s activity ended after the death of Desnet in 1933, but its distinctive modernist pieces remain highly prized by collectors and museums today.
