Framed Red + Purple Mixed Media Abstract Painting by Clara Shainess
An abstract mixed media painting by American artist Clara Shainess (1896-1987). It was acquired from a private collection in New York and features vibrant purple and red hues. Presented as photographed in an ebonized wood frame with gilt accents and signed ‘Shainess’ on the lower right corner.
Clara Shainess was a New York based artist born in England who worked with oil paint, collage, watercolor, mixed media sculpture and tapestries. She is represented in the National Academy of Design, Whitney Museum in New York, American British Art Center and the Riverside Museum.
