Swiss Hand-Forged Iron Dining Chair in the Manner of Diego Giacometti, 1970s - 6 Available

$2,400.00

A sculptural Swiss dining chair from the 1970s, hand-forged in iron and shaped with the spare, organic sensibility associated with Diego Giacometti.

The slender iron frame rises into an elongated, almost architectural back, where intersecting forged lines create a delicate lattice. The structure feels drawn rather than constructed—each curve and crossing introducing movement while preserving an understated, graphic quality. Its darkened iron surface carries the irregularities and character of hand forging, allowing the chair to read as both furniture and object.

The seat has been reupholstered in Schumacher's Gainsborough Velvet in the Sap colorway, bringing a rich olive tone against the patinated iron. With its unusual proportions and expressive geometry, the chair has a distinctly architectural quality.

It works naturally around a dining table, but is equally compelling placed alone as an accent piece—where the open ironwork and saturated velvet can be appreciated from every angle.

Sold and priced individually.
