A Swiss 'Terrazza' sofa designed by Ubald Klug for De Sede in 1972, conceived from the contours of terraced Alpine landscapes and the shifting formations left by wind across sand.
Rather than relying on conventional upholstery, the design is built from seven graduated, leather-wrapped cushions arranged in stepped succession across a rectangular base. The composition rises and falls with a natural rhythm, creating a landscape that feels sculpted rather than assembled. More architectural than decorative, the form invites multiple ways of sitting, reclining, or gathering, responding as much to the room as to the body.
Retaining its original cognac suede upholstery, the sofa carries the rich patina that only time can produce. The softness of the suede enhances the geometry, while the warm tone accentuates the changing planes of the stepped cushions as light moves across their surface. Every angle reveals a different profile, reinforcing the piece's relationship to the natural topography that inspired it.

Our White Glove service includes delivery inside the home (including one flight of stairs). Once the shippers are in your region, they will contact you beforehand to provide the delivery day and time window. Standard lead time is 3-5 weeks.
Ensure a clear path and be available to sign for the delivery. The team cannot move existing furniture. Rural deliveries may experience longer wait times due to limited routing. Alert us if there are additional stairs, COI requirements or other unique circumstances.

In-stock inventory ships via UPS, USPS, or FedEx within 5-10 business days (excluding holidays). Rates are calculated based on the full order value, size and region.
