Constructed in solid elm, the shelf is composed through a rhythm of vertical supports and horizontal planes, each element intersecting with a precision. The elm carries a warmth distinctive to French furniture of the period, its grain moving softly across the surface and emphasizing the material’s natural variation. Rounded edges temper the geometry, while the exposed joinery reflects the restrained craftsmanship associated with Maison Regain’s interpretation of European modernism—functional, tactile, and deeply connected to the honesty of the wood itself.
Open from every side, the structure allows light to pass through the piece, creating shifting lines of shadow around the shelves. Used beside a chair, it functions as a side table. Against a wall, it becomes a place for books and collected objects. Its scale invites flexibility, but the clarity of the form ensures it always reads as intentional.
Maison Regain was a French atelier active in the 1960s and '70s, celebrated for its architectural furniture. Working in the spirit of Pierre Chapo and Charlotte Perriand, the studio embraced a Brutalist ethos tempered by warmth—emphasizing pure forms, honest joinery, and the expressive grain of French hardwoods.
Each piece reflects a distinctly regional modernism: minimalist yet grounded, rustic yet exacting. Maison Regain’s work continues to resonate for its refined balance of mass, material, and restraint.

Our White Glove service includes delivery inside the home (including one flight of stairs). Once the shippers are in your region, they will contact you beforehand to provide the delivery day and time window. Standard lead time is 3-5 weeks.
Ensure a clear path and be available to sign for the delivery. The team cannot move existing furniture. Rural deliveries may experience longer wait times due to limited routing. Alert us if there are additional stairs, COI requirements or other unique circumstances.

In-stock inventory ships via UPS, USPS, or FedEx within 5-10 business days (excluding holidays). Rates are calculated based on the full order value, size and region.
