French Leaf Motif Brass + Glass Top Coffee Table, 1950s
Shaped with a distinctly sculptural approach to mid-century metalwork, a French coffee table from the 1950s.
The table is centered by a broad, clear glass top, its transparency allowing the structure beneath to remain fully visible. A warm brass frame supports the surface, with slender lines that curve and taper into four expressive legs.
The legs are the defining detail. Each extends outward in a gentle, organic sweep, terminating in a fine point and giving the table a sense of movement even at rest. Leaf-like brass elements rise along the supports, introducing a natural vocabulary.
A secondary circular stretcher sits beneath the top, visually anchoring the frame while maintaining the open quality of the design. The glass allows light to move freely through the structure, emphasizing the contrast between the reflective surface and aged brass.
