This 1950s French wall mirror—attributed to the French design duo Adrien Audoux & Frida Minet—epitomizes their signature use of woven rope. Two varying sizes of handwoven rope, rich with natural variations, are intricately laced around rectangular mirror glass. This mirror has a wooden backing and includes rope along the backside for hanging.

Adrien Audoux & Frida Minet became known for their design ethos which favored bringing accessible materials, such as their signature use of rope cord, to the high design world. Their rustic style evolved as a rejection of the Paris Exposition des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels of 1925, which they perceived as exclusive to the wealthy elite.
