Italian Alpaca Wingback Lounge Chair, 1950s - 2 Available

$7,000.00

An Italian lounge chair from the 1950s, shaped with the confidence of mid-century Italian design.

The exaggerated wingback rises in a continuous curve, wrapping the sitter in a silhouette that feels both sculptural and enveloping. Tapered legs finished with delicate patinated brass sabots lend the chair a lighter, more refined presence.

Recently reupholstered in alpaca, the seat and back are wrapped in a textile prized for both its softness and durability. Alpaca fiber carries a natural luster—subtle rather than reflective—allowing it to catch light in a muted, almost powdery way. Its texture is dense yet supple, offering warmth without heaviness, and a tactile surface that invites use.

Unlike wool, alpaca is naturally resilient and less prone to pilling, with a smoothness that maintains its integrity over time. There is a quiet luxury in the material, understated but deeply felt in both comfort and finish. The deep tone further emphasizes the chair’s sculptural profile, giving depth to its curves while remaining restrained and atmospheric.

A piece that is designed not simply as seating, but as an object that defines the mood of the room around it.

Sold and priced individually.
