Set of 3 French Oak Nesting Tables, 1960s

$850.00

A set of 3 1960s nesting tables in the style of French architect and designer Pierre Chapo. Crafted of dark-stained solid oak, these tables feature rectangular tops and angled block legs. Designed to nest seamlessly, they offer versatility while maintaining a sculptural presence.

Pierre Chapo was a French architect and designer who was initially interested in painting. His encounter with a shipbuilding carpenter in 1947 introduced him to wood and woodworking, leading him to pursue architectural studies at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

After traveling through Scandinavia and Central America and working for a year in the United States, he returned to Paris to focus on his interest in wood, crafting furniture primarily from solid oak, elm, ash, or teak, while maintaining a dual commitment to contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship.
