Set of 3 Spanish Silver Bar Set by Pedro Durán Morales, 1950s

$1,200.00

A Spanish silver bar set by Pedro Durán Morales from the 1950s, a trio of functional objects unified by the same fluted, almost botanical form. The set includes a corkscrew, bottle opener, and can opener, each built around an elongated oval handle articulated with deep vertical ribs.

The handles swell gently at the center before tapering toward rounded finials, together, the repetition creates a visual rhythm, the three objects feel conceived as a collection rather than simply assembled as a set.

Pedro Durán Morales established his Madrid silversmithing workshop in 1886, building a house known for bringing traditional Spanish metalworking into objects made for everyday life. That history makes this 1950s bar set especially appealing: silver is used here not for ceremonial tableware, but for the rituals of entertaining.

As a complete set of three, the pieces have a presence beyond their individual uses. Arranged together on a bar or drinks tray, they read almost like a group of small sculptures, objects made for entertaining, but considered carefully enough to remain on display between uses.

About Pedro Durán Morales
Pedro Durán Morales (1860–1938) was a Spanish silversmith and founder of the Madrid silver firm that bears his name. He opened his workshop in 1886, creating silver objects for the home by hand. His reputation grew quickly, and in 1899 he was appointed an official supplier to the Spanish royal household.
