Trio of Italian Marble Nesting Tables, 1970s
A trio of Italian nesting tables from the 1970s, composed of three graduated tables, each defined by a softly rounded rectangular top and substantial marble supports.
The varying heights allow the tables to nest closely together or separate throughout a room, creating an arrangement that can shift with the way the space is used.
Cut from white marble, the surfaces are marked by delicate veining that moves organically across each table, making no two positions quite alike. The stone gives the set a sense of permanence, while the rounded edges and staggered forms keep the overall composition fluid and understated.
Together, the three tables read almost as a single landscape. Spread around a sofa, they create layered surfaces for entertaining; nested together, they become a compact architectural object.
