Furniture Mover & Logistics Coordinator
South Loop Loft is hiring a full-time Furniture Mover & Logistics Coordinator to join our inventory and operations team.
This is a hands-on, physical role for someone who is comfortable moving furniture all day, works efficiently, and takes pride in doing things well. You’ll be responsible for the movement, care, and preparation of our inventory across our warehouse, showroom, and photo shoots.

Location: Chicago, IL (Pilsen → Pulaski Corridor)
Schedule: Full-time
What You’ll Do
Furniture Moving & Daily Operations

Move furniture throughout the day between warehouse, showroom, and staging areas

Load and unload incoming containers

Assist with organizing and maintaining inventory flow

Delivery inventory to repair + restoration vendors
Photo Shoot Support

Set up and move furniture for photography (up to 2 shoots per week)

Work closely with the photography team to stage and reset spaces efficiently

Handle pieces carefully while maintaining speed and responsiveness
Shipping & Fulfillment

Package and prepare items for UPS and freight shipments

Build protective packaging and ensure items are secure for transit

Assist with occasional client deliveries
Showroom & Warehouse Maintenance

Keep warehouse and inventory areas clean, organized, and functional

Clean, dust, and prep furniture so it is photo-ready and client-ready

Maintain a high standard of presentation across all spaces
Installation & Handling

Install and deinstall lighting and artwork

Move and position heavy, high-value items safely

Support minor repairs or prep work as needed (training provided if you’re willing to learn)

Furniture Assembly
What We’re Looking For
-
5+ years of experience in moving, furniture handling, and/or logistics
-
Comfortable with heavy lifting and physical work all day
-
Strong attention to detail—especially when handling fragile or valuable items
-
Reliable, efficient, and able to work at a steady pace
-
Team-oriented with a good attitude and strong work ethic
Requirements

Valid driver’s license

Ability to lift and move heavy furniture safely and consistently

Must be able to work full-time, in-person in Chicago
(Pilsen location now, transitioning to Pulaski Corridor)
